No Friday Poll Today
We made it back from Owen's surgery just a little bit ago. Everything went well. He is awake, but still a little bit out of it because of the anesthesia. We are taking it easy today - we all have to recover a little bit!

Busy time
I'm sorry that I've been neglecting the old blog lately. My calendar has been sort of full. And I've been kind of worried about some things. My grandmother is finally doing better, but she has had an awful time suffering from gallstones and having to have her gallbladder removed.
Also, Owen had his follow-up checkup about his kidney reflux. He still has it and when we followed up with the urologist, they scheduled his surgery for this Friday. It is a very minor procedure called Deflux, but they still have to put him to sleep which scares me. But, I think it will be better than him having to keep going back for the yearly hell that is a VCUG. And, he would eventually still have to either have this procedure done later, or we would wait until he is about five or so when we could see if he has grown out of the reflux; at that point, if he hadn't grown out of it, he would either have the Deflux procedure after all or he would have to have a more invasive corrective surgery. Anyway, I think we are making the best choice to go ahead and do this. If all goes well, he could be off daily antibiotics in about 6 weeks after Friday which would be AWESOME!
Anyway, between doctor's appointments, birthdays, and other daily obligations (like squirrel evictions) and appointments, I have had very little down time. Wish us luck!
Well, we have to go in for Owen's yearly VCUG Monday at 3:00. We will be finding out soon if his kidney reflux has improved any since last year. It is not a fun test and I'm not looking forward to it, but maybe there will be some good news.
