  My Uncle, Tom's Thanksgiving photos

  My Dad's Thanksgiving photos

Wow, Thanksgiving was a long, busy holiday!
But it was fun. I was hoping to rest some, but it every spare moment was used up by something. I didn't take a single picture on Thanksgiving, but I do have some pictures from my dad and my uncle that I will try to get posted later on today. And I did take a few this weekend.

  Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
And Happy Birthday to Grandmama Becky (today) and Happy Belated Birthday to Grandpa Currie (Sunday)! Anyway, I hope you all have a fun/safe holiday and I hope you all eat a lot and get fat like me!!!

  I'm too busy.
All I want to do is shop! Something about this time of year, I suppose. I also want to cook and bake. I will cook tomorrow though!

  Dang it!
They cancelled Arrested Development. There are still more episodes this season, but after that, it will be gone. I hope another network or cable station will pick it up.

So, there was this commercial on earlier today...
It was an advertisement for a grocery store. They were saying that you could get everything you needed for Thanksgiving dinner at their store. Then, at the end it said, you can get a turkey for 69 cents a pound and bananas for 49 cents a pound. Hmmm... the cornerstones of every good Thanksgiving dinner - turkey and bananas.

To file under the completely random category...
We were in Home Depot the other night and they had these big lighters shaped like matches. And I mean giant matches - they were like a foot long. The name brand is "Monster Match." I keep thinking about how I want one - if for no other reason except to walk around the house lighting candles and singing, "they did the match, they did the monster match..."

  Pregnancy Journal - Week 24 (I don't know what month I'm supposed to be - I think 6 or 7)
I really need some kind of chart that shows what week corresponds with which month. Too much math for me!

Physical/Emotional: Getting bigger. Still feeling pretty great though. I guess I'm still a little overemotional, but I feel like my stress is diminishing somewhat.

Food: I am trying to eat healthier, but it isn't easy. I keep craving things like cookies and anything with salt in it. But, I also crave good stuff like apples, pears and pink grapefruit juice. I can't wait to eat Thanksgiving dinner!

Other Thoughts: We've ordered some stuff for the baby's room and are contemplating a possible construction project to correct the flaws in the most horribly designed closet I've ever seen. There is still a lot to do before the baby comes. We also have to figure out what pediatrician to use and sign up for some childbirth classes. I also want to get the baby announcements designed, the baby book bought and started, and my office organized and cleaned out... maybe soon.

  Here's a shocker...
Next week is Thanksgiving. Next week! I don't know how it crept up on me like that, but it did. That means I need to come up with a design for our Christmas cards and start getting Christmas shopping done soon!

  Election Day

  An Update
I know I've been a little bit slack about posting lately. It has been a busy week! We got to go shopping for baby stuff yesterday. I went with my mom, Austin, and Austin's mom. We went ahead and ordered a crib and a changing table. We also got a UGA toy chest that is really cute. I don't know if I mentioned it, but we already got the bedding for the crib a few weeks ago. It is light blue, light green, and white with black and white gingham trim. It has green frogs on it - very cute (and very soft). I think I am going to paint the walls green or blue.

Anyway, I just have to say that I have the best husband in the world. He has been so patient shopping for baby stuff. Even yesterday when he was dead tired!

Okay, that's all for now. I will post pictures from election day soon (maybe tomorrow).

Loganville has a new council member...
and his name is Austin Jones! Not only did Austin win, but he had the most votes. Very cool. I'm so proud of him.

  The Finish Line
Yay! Tomorrow is the election. It will all be over, one way or another. Austin has really worked hard for this seat on the city council, so I hope he gets it. And if he doesn't, it just wasn't meant to be.

And, on the baby front, we registered at Babies R Us on Saturday. I also registered online at Pottery Barn Kids and Modern Seed for fun. I am going to link these all on my blog page, just for convenience.

  Something I hate:
When Holly sits up on the couch behind my head and makes smacking/licking noises right in my ear. Ick!!!

Why can't it be next week already?
As the election gets closer, the meaner people get. They keep twisting Austin's words and making it seem like he is a slick, dishonest person. I happen to know that he is a very honest person, sometimes brutally honest. And if he were slick, he would be pandering to all of the electorate rather than standing up for what he believes in. When we talk to people, it seems like there are so many people that support him 100%, but then I hear whispers from people just attacking him and his parents relentlessly. I know, it is part of politics, but really, how sad is that? People just want to see a fight. It happens at ALL LEVELS of the political system. Now I know that. Now I know that living in a place almost your entire life and caring about your city does not make anyone give you a break - in fact, they would rather use that against you. I wish I had thicker skin like Austin. He just lets stuff roll off his back, while I let my insides get eaten up with stress. Oh well. If he wins, I know he will do wonderful things to improve the city and if he loses, I'll get to spend more time with him and he will get to spend more time with his son. And it will be the city's loss. Austin, I love you and I'm soooooo proud of you, no matter what happens. It will all be over soon.

  The baby
I have been feeling little tiny movements coming from my belly for about a week now. Today, he has REALLY started moving. I can feel him when I put my hand on my tummy. It's weird.
