  Thanks!
I wanted to say thank you to all of the ladies who helped in throwing my first two baby showers this weekend. They did such a great job! And thanks to all of the people who came to the showers. I had so much fun and got such cute and useful stuff! 2 down, 1 to go. I'll post pictures today or tomorrow.

So, maybe all of the aches and pains I was experiencing yesterday are what caused me to wake up with "Achy-Breaky Heart" stuck in my head.
That is not the way you want to wake up! But it sure as hell beats waking up to weigh yourself and slamming your head at full force into the towel rack in the bathroom. That's how my day started yesterday. I was very emotional yesterday. The emotional stuff lasted all day and I was crying at everything. For example, I cried because Austin took my long printer cable and left me with a crappy, short one. I was actually saying through sobs, "why don't we have more printer cables?" Anyway, one breakdown after the other led me to a final, huge meltdown when I was trying to help resolve the computer problems that my sister and I were having. I think my emotions were on edge because I was hurting so bad. My back is popping in weird ways now and my legs and ankles hurt and I feel like a weeble-wobble. But that's okay. I feel much more sane today, except for the weird songs that have been in my head. After "Achy-Breaky Heart," I couldn't stop singing "Lost in Your Eyes," by Debbie Gibson, but thankfully, with the help of my iPod, I am now getting some work down and listening to some of my favorite songs. Ahhh... I just need to relax.

  I hate computers!

And, if you still haven't seen enough of our aquarium photos...
My dad has put our photos up too. In these links, it is a mix of both of our photos. He took some great ones of a sea turtle and some other cool ones. Also, there are some photos of me in his photos. Go to these links if you are interested in checking them out:

I'm so proud of my hubby
Austin quit smoking! His last cigarette was on Monday night and he is doing soooooo well. He is chewing the gum to help with the physical cravings. He hasn't been mean or in a bad mood or anything. I am just so proud of him!

  The Doctor
I probably should've waited until after my doctor's appointment to do my pregnancy journal, but I didn't. So, the doctor said the baby weighs about 5 lbs 6 ounces now. And the ultrasound technician said that it looks more like the umbilical cord has a second collapsed artery rather than a single umbilical artery like they thought last time. It doesn't make a huge difference except rather than being a defect or malformation of some sort, it shows that the umbilical cord started out normally and something happened to it to cause a malfunction (which is fine since there is another artery that works just fine).

Anyway, during the ultrasound Owen kept moving around like crazy. The lady said that almost every time she was about to take a picture he would roll around and move out of the shot. I could feel him and Austin was watching my belly move around like something out of Alien. Oh, and the other funny thing was that she could see some hair in the ultrasound! Like mother, like son, I suppose.

  If only...
I had a chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing. Yum.

  Pregnancy Journal - Week 33 (Month 8)
My belly keeps getting bigger and daily tasks are becoming more and more difficult. If I am up moving around doing stuff, I get bursts of energy, but they don't last long. And usually when I sit down to take a break my eyelids start getting heavy and I get tired. I feel like we're getting to crunch time now and much of our time is scheduled with doctor's appointments, classes, housework and pretty soon... baby showers! I think work has been successfully slowing down a little bit, and I feel like things are actually coming together now. I know that you can never be fully prepared for a baby, but at least I am trying to do everything I can to be as prepared as I can. So, 7 weeks until my due date... and counting...

  City Council Meeting
Austin was sworn-in last night onto the Loganville City Council. My parents took most of these photos for me. I look so gigantic in every photo nowadays! Seriously, how many chins do I have?!! I might wear a paper bag and a blanket to my showers! Oh well.

And, by the way, Austin's brother's birthday was yesterday and I forgot to post to tell him HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE!

  Ewww... ketchup?
Anyone who knows me even slightly well knows that I detest ketchup. Except on meatloaf. My mom and sister don't like ketchup either. I guess that's one of the reason's that one of Ethan's new habits seems especially revolting to us. Lately, everything he eats needs "dip" and usually that dip is ketchup. I was visiting Becca and the boys with my mom and my cousin, Gillam on Friday night and Ethan was eating English muffin pizzas. He said, "I need some dip." I think it was my mom who said, "What kind of dip? Ketchup?" He thought that sounded good so my mom made a bowl of ketchup which he proceeded to dip his pizza in. Rebecca told us that the night before he was dipping his broccoli in ketchup! Yuck! I remember my friend, Marcie used to eat ketchup and mayonnaise sandwiches. I guess kids just like weird things sometimes.

  Childbirth Class
We had our first childbirth class last night. I thought I signed up for the classes where I'm going to be having the baby, but after arriving at the hospital, tromping around with my giant pillows, we realized that we were about 15-20 minutes away from the hospital with the classes. But, it was after much ado. Once again, proof that your brain turns into complete mush when you get pregnant. Austin had a meeting to go to at 7, which was when the class started, so I arranged to have dinner with my mom right near the hospital and then run over to take the class. She would drive separately so Austin could take her place in the class after a half hour or so.

We got to the hospital on time and began wandering around looking for the room. I realized something was wrong, when no one seemed to know what the heck I was talking about. So, my mom and I went to sit in the lobby and I called my dad to find out the information about where the classes were being held. While I was sitting there on the phone my mom said, "I'm going to go ask someone," and went walking off. The next thing I knew, this nurse came walking around the corner after my mom. "Where are the classes supposed to be?" she asked me. And then about 30 or 40 people came filing into the lobby after her. I looked over at my mom and whispered, "why the hell are all these people in here?" Apparently it was a tour group of pregnant women and their husbands. They stood there for an excruciatingly long amount of time learning about where they needed to park and come into the building when they were in labor. Then, they had to all wait for the elevators to take them upstairs. Keep in mind that I am STILL sitting there melting into my chair as I waited for my dad to find the information about the class for me. In the meantime, the automatic doors in the lobby kept opening and closing even though no one was coming or going through them. It was driving me crazy!

So, after much embarrassment and frustration and another call to my sister, we decided to go on to the other hospital where the class actually was. I was crying and upset. I left a frantic message for Austin telling him what was going on.

So, we walked into class an half hour late, but other than that, the rest of the night went fairly smoothly. Although Austin kept making me laugh during the "relaxation exercise" at the end of the class. It was kind of a cheesy song we had to listen to. Anyway, we can make anything exciting.

  Pregnancy Journal - Week 31
I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Everything seemed well. They say that the baby's heartrate varies from about 120 to 160. So far, every time I've been checked it has been right around 140. I don't believe it ever varies although they keep insisting that it does. Anyway, he keeps moving like crazy. Movies make him very excited and he also seems to really like food (uh-oh, he's taking after his parents). Anyway, I made lasagna last night and after eating it, Owen just flipped out. Oh, and the thing the doctor said that scared me was that he was measuring like I was 35 weeks pregnant (check the title - I'm only 31 weeks!). Great!

  Finally...
A game turned out like I wanted it to! Hook 'em Horns!

  Baby Names
Owen did make it onto the list of top 100 baby names for 2005 at number 43.

  Bummer
That game sucked last night. If we could just forget the first quarter ever happened, it would've been an easy win.
