We had a nice, relaxing weekend in Atlanta
We celebrated our anniversary by going off our diets for the weekend, and spending it in Atlanta. We stayed at the Hilton, shopped, and ate some good food. Anyway, it is nice to have the three day weekend and I, hopefully, will be ready to get back to work tomorrow.
I just have to say...
We have been watching
Arrested Development on DVD lately and that is just about one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. I think my favorite episode, so far, is when they flash back to the lessons their dad used to teach him using his friend who had a missing arm. And then they tried to teach George Michael a lesson using stripper cops and construction workers. You just would have to see it to realize how funny it is.
Also, I'm really bummed that Ken Jennings lost to that jerk, Brad, on
Jeopardy!
Happy (belated) Birthday, Jake! And Happy 2 Year Anniversary, us!
Two years ago this time, I think I was probably freaking out because I forgot to bring my veil to get my hair done. I think my cousin, Caroline was the one that went to get it. Or maybe Shanna? Anyway, it was all such a blur, it is hard to remember the details. I just remember that it was a really fun day. And it wouldn't have happened without our wonderful friends and family.
Austin, we've had our challenges, but I love you more and more each day. You make life worth living and I am so glad that you are my husband. Okay, enough with the cheesiness.
UUUUUUUUUUURGHJ:HISIUFHO":IFJAPNMSKAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so irritated. I kept trying to make one stupid little change to a stupid little ad in Quark and it keeps crashing!!!!! I haven't had this much trouble in a long time. I think I might have to do some maintenance. I wish I didn't have so much work to do! But I don't think it will work right until I clear some stuff off. Fun day ahead. I can already tell!!
By the way, once again, I'm in the darn Volkswagen dealership. I've been here since 9:20 or so. It is now after noon. It sure would be nice to have a day or two to just work!
Skunk and leg chewin'
First of all, Jinx, Becca and Jake's cat came in the house yesterday smelling like a skunk. Becca chased him out and gave Ethan the task of hosing him off. Ethan's gag reflex is, well, let's just say it runs in the family to have a weak stomach about smells and gross things. So, anyway, Ethan immediately started gagging. He kept gagging and running around the yard, chasing Jinx with the hose, saying, "Jinx, come here. I have to get the skunk smell off." And, there is something about growing up in the South where, no matter what your parents sound like, you, as a child have a VERY southern accent. Just watch our home videos. But anyway, when Ethan says, skunk, it is drawn out with the emphasis on the "u" so it sounds like "sku-unk" and it also really funny to hear him say "puke" and "Doug."
The other funny thing he said was when my mom was watching him at her house the other day. Molly, my mom's dog started chewing on her leg. Ethan asked why she did that and my mom said, "it is a nervous habit."
Ethan said, "why?" (he's kind of going through an inquisitive phase).
"Because she gets kind of jealous when you're around because I pay you attention and don't pay her any attention. You might feel that way a little bit when I hold Wyatt or when mama, daddy or ma-ma-maw (that's what he calls Jake's mom) holds Wyatt."
He said, "I only feel like chewing on my leg when ma-ma-maw holds Wyatt."
Austin's Thoughts on "Cinderella Man"
"The only way I would go see 'Cinderella Man' would be if he actually boxed while wearing glass slippers."
Britney Spears needs to just not talk.
And I can't believe she is about to spawn.
Why, God, why?!!
Of all the "musicians" to reunite it had to be the stupid Backstreet Boys. Yuck. It just reminds me of practically having to wrestle our friend, Laura to keep her from playing her Backstreet Boys CD at a party we were having back in college. Nothing clears out a keg party quite like the Backstreet Boys.
There's got to be a joke in there somewhere...
I got the highlights in my hair touched up today and then went to buy some lightbulbs because the ones in our guest bathroom were out. I then changed the lightbulbs. I kept thinking that it seemed like a joke somehow...
Well, the time has come
for Austin and me to drastically change our eating habits. I went through and threw out almost everything in our refrigerator, freezer and pantry and replaced it all with healthy alternatives. It sure costs a lot to eat healthy, but hopefully we can do it.
I think the best thing about my laptop
is that I can bring it to the Volkswagen dealership when I take Austin's car in and spend the morning working (or blogging) and not waste the entire morning. And it might not be the fastest connection, but it is wireless and I think that is very cool.
Oh my gosh, I'm so happy today!!!
First of all, I just had a very large margarita, so that makes me very happy. But, second, I got to spend the day with Becca, Ethan and Wyatt. And the funniest quote of the day was when Becca asked Ethan, "do you want to go back to Utah some day?" and Ethan replied, "Me-taw?"
And, we get to see Star Wars tomorrow. I know, it doesn't come out until next week, but we get to see a special charity premiere tomorrow at Phipps Plaza, which will be fun. (of course, that doesn't mean we aren't going to the midnight showing next week).
And, of course, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANDREA!!!
And, thank you Ashley for your help this week. Hmm... mom, I'm looking forward to the football thing in June. And I am looking forward to Tim and Sandy's wedding, and our second anniversary... And, Mike, I hope you're feeling better now! Okay, I've babbled enough.
Sha, right!
If you live in metro Atlanta,
keep an eye out for the Gwinnett Daily Post article about Star Wars and Austin. It is supposed to come out on May 15th, the Sunday before Star Wars officially comes out in theaters. Corinne, keep us updated if it looks like that date might change.
Fishy Glasses
I bought these glasses from
Chris this weekend. I think they are so neat!
05/05/05
Well, I spent Cinco de Mayo 2005 with Becca, Ethan, and Wyatt. I was going to go to the open house where I used to work (they just moved into a really cool looking new office), but I ended up staying pretty long at Becca's, so I just went home rather than trying to make it across town to Lawrenceville in rush hour traffic.
Anyway, we all had a good time. We went out to my mom's office to visit and have lunch. Ethan wanted to wear his new church shoes but Becca said, "those are leather and it might rain, so you'd better not wear those today." So, Ethan decided to wear his rain boots. He also asked for his rain jacket. So, once he was all dressed up in his raingear, we started heading out to the car. I kept hearing Ethan say, "no rain, no rain, no rain..." And it didn't rain the entire time we were out. Poor little guy.
And my favorite quote of the day was when I heard Rebecca say, from the backseat, "Ethan, get your hand out of my armpit!" And I love it when Ethan says, "What you said?"
FAME!
Tonight, Austin is being interviewed for the Gwinnett Daily Post. They are coming to our house to interview him and take pictures of him in front of his Star Wars collection. Okay, so it isn't the national news, but it is still pretty fun. I can't wait to see the article. Thanks to Corinne for setting the whole thing up!
Camera Advice
I am considering getting a new, nice digital camera that takes super duper high quality photos and has easily exchangable lenses. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I want it to turn on quickly and would love it to take pictures right away, without a second or so delay. Anyway, I'm thinking about a canon rebel or nikon d70 or something, but I just don't know. I'm going to have to shop, shop, shop around to find exactly what I'm looking for.
