  Elmo says, Happy Halloween!!!

  Yes, we're those people...
If there is candy in the house, Austin and I will eat it. It is horrible. We can't control ourselves. So, this year, I decided to buy the cheapest, crappiest candy I could find, so we wouldn't be tempted to eat it. So, here's a warning to the kids who come to our house - we are the people who will be handing out the zip-a-dee mini pops. Sorry.

  Halloween Party
Hmm... I don't remember Strawberry Shortcake or Rainbow Brite looking quite like this, but hey, if I looked like my sister or cousin, I would wear these costumes too. Another thing is, it is funny that Caroline, Gillam and Rebecca make such funny faces in all of their pictures (especially when the three of them are together).

  Knowshon?
As most of you know, we picked Owen's middle name, Walker, because of Herschel Walker. After that Florida game, it looks like we might have to name our second child Knowshon or Moreno. Okay, maybe not, but he is pretty amazing! That's the best game I've seen us play in years!!!

  Dream
I had a dream the other night and all I can remember is that someone was telling me that Jeremy Piven got his start in Mystic Pizza. So, I looked it up on imdb and it seems that it was Matt Damon's first movie. Maybe that's what the person in my dream was saying. Or maybe I'm just insane.

I hate being sick, but when I am sick I LOVE to sneeze.

  Updates
I'm sure most of you already know this information, but just in case, I thought I'd share:

Beth and Troy are home with their new baby, Katherine.

Sandy and Tim have Riley at home with them now. She was in the NICU for a month because she was born two months early, but she is doing great now!

My friend, Lacey is pregnant!

Tonya (of Ted and Tonya) is pregnant!

Stephanie's baby girl is due sometime in December, I believe.

Dawn's baby girl, Natalie, seems to be recovering well from her heart surgery.

Shanna's hysterectomy seems to have gotten all of the cancer.

Let me know if I'm forgetting anyone!

  Friday Poll 10_19_07 Shots
I get my flu shot today. Owen had his on Monday. So, I guess my question is, are you getting a flu shot this year? And, do you have any funny or interesting experiences involving shots?

  Gross.
The other day when Austin came home from lunch, Owen was already in his high chair, finishing up his lunch. All of a sudden, Owen started sticking his hands in his mouth, gagging himself. Austin asked if he was choking on food, but we both decided that it was just his fingers in his mouth. We kept trying to pull them out of his mouth and he eventually made himself throw up. It was so gross! Has anyone else heard of kids ever doing this?

  To Owen... (19 months old)

You have learned how to open doors! Oh no! I knew it was coming; you have been fascinated by doors and doorknobs for awhile, but I was sort of dreading the day when you were actually able to open them. The other day I went back to ask your Daddy if he wanted to go outside with us and by the time I got back to the laundry room, the door was open and you were out in the garage. Luckily we keep the garage door closed.

You love to dance. You do it all the time. Sometimes you bounce your head, or rock back and forth. Sometimes you stomp as fast as you can with your feet and sometimes you take your arms and move your elbows up and down. Sometimes you do all of this together.

Now that you are walking, you have also started running and climbing. You love to climb on the furniture. You even figured out how to get up on our big, tall bed by climbing on the bench at the foot of the bed and then throwing your leg way up over the footboard and climbing onto the bed. I usually help with the last step because it looks so dangerous! You also love running - outside, through the house, through department stores, or wherever there is open space.

You have at least one secret hiding place. One day your Granny let you play with her silver bracelet. When it was time for her to leave, the bracelet was gone. We looked all over for it. The next day, you came walking into the kitchen with the bracelet on. So, I never saw where it was hidden. You did the same thing with my eyeshadow too.

You still love wearing hats and other accessories.

You are a very messy eater. I never knew it was possible to eat yogurt and pudding with a fork, or just by the handful. And I don't know what the fascination is with throwing your food, but you sure love to do that still. A lot of times you decide to practice spitting, by taking a big gulp of water and just letting it run out of your mouth onto your shirt. It is amazing how fast this gets you soaking wet.

Even though you aren't saying too many words clearly, you have your own little language. You sometimes babble to yourself nonstop for long periods of time. How I wish I knew what you are trying to say! And, you are starting to understand a lot more. You can follow a lot of commands; of course a lot of times you don't, but it is more like you don't want to follow the command than that you don't understand.

You are obsessed with going outside. You freak out if anyone takes Holly out without you. You also get really sad when people leave the house. I think you think that they're going out to play without you. When we are outside, you like to run up and down other people's driveways, play with trailer hitches on the backs of their cars and throw rocks. You are so interested in everything you see and hear. You stood and watched some of the boys in the neighborhood throwing a football today. You wanted so badly to join them. When one of them caught a ball you'd say, "yay" and clap your hands; when they dropped it, you said, "uh-oh."

You just adore your Daddy. You love to eat with him, watch TV with him, climb up on the bed or sofa and roll around on him, or do anything else you can with him. He loves you too.

We love having such a funny, sweet little guy in our lives. You make us so happy!

Love, Mama

  Fried Okra - past banners
I was looking at some of my old banners, and I just thought I'd post them for your viewing pleasure. Some of them really suck and I have used some of them a couple of times, as you can see. Anyway, I put the link over there to your right under the comments and other stuff. Here is another link:
